Weight Loss Diet -
The Concept of Calorie-In Calorie-Out
There has been so
much confusion about weight loss and slimming diets lately. Most
people looking to actually lose weight almost always get misguided
or simply get information overload from their search for answers.
The sheer amount of information out there is enough to boggle
anyone looking for a proper answer to their weight problems. The
main problem is that weight loss information is so oversold, the
weight loss business is worth billions of dollars every year and it
makes total sense to keep people un-informed. If customers knew how
to get rid of their excess weight themselves then the weight loss
industry will all but crumble overnight.
Those that
successfully get about trying normally don’t succeed either because
of two main factors. They don’t have the patience to stick to one
program and keep to it because they think that they might get
faster results with another program thus end up jumping from
program to program with guaranteeing very little overall success.
They also do not understand or recognize that weight loss is a very
slow almost completely imperceptible process. It might take you as
much as a month to realistically loose only 1 pound of body fat.
Nature intended that humans and indeed all animals retain as much
nutrients as they can so help them survive periods where food
wasn’t available. Put that together with the fluctuation of body
weight as much as 5 pounds a day and most people simply feel that
they aren’t making any progress at all.
There are many
beliefs about weight loss. Some even point to it as a sort of black
magic where you have to do certain things like run around the table
8 times and kiss a cat before weight loss is to occur. The realists
out there will point to how stupid this is and correctly say that
weight loss is nothing but physics. There is no black magic
involved or any other silly superstition you need to follow to lose
weight. If you understand the physics and realize that our bodies
are just a complex machine that also runs on fuel then you are a
step closer at the true knowledge that is necessary for sustainable
weight loss.
Some people used
to think that eating certain types of food will aid in weight loss
while eating others will totally sabotage your weight loss efforts.
Although there are certain truths in that some foods are richer
(e.g. fats or proteins) while some other foods are lighter (e.g.
green vegetables) the actual foods that you eat do not matter if
you are looking to lose weight. Yes, you heard that right, the food
that you eat doesn’t matter if you are looking for a weight loss
diet. You can be eating bacon and meat pies everyday and still
effectively lose weight. Let me try to explain this over the next
few paragraphs.
