Most religions
and cultures practice fasting where they abstain from food and
water for a certain amount of time to cleanse themselves. As stated
in the previous paragraph about the cleansing affect of the diet on
the body, some believe that it also allows for a cleansing of your
blood and even aiding your brain function. Although the exact
mechanism in which the body allows for this cleansing to occur
isn’t known, there has to be a reason that fasting is recommended
by almost all religions of the world as a good way to cleanse your
body, mind and soul. Most who have successfully completed this diet
have expressed that the their minds seemed clearer after the diet.
They felt slightly wiser and found it easier to concentrate.
Most also reported that their hearing had improved while sight
remained the same.
In addition to
what the Starvation Diet does to your body passively, the dieter
will actively have to fight off hunger pangs and also develop an
eating regime where they are fed with enough nutrients that they
don’t suffer from too many ill affects. This “searching” and
matching of different food types is meant for you to learn how
sensitive your body is to certain types of foods and also how well
you digest certain foods. Most people go through life without even
knowing these intricate details. Those that have gone through the
Starvation Diet can call upon their knowledge anytime in their life
and know exactly what to eat to stay full and also know what
trigger points your metabolism has for certain foods. This makes it
much easier for the dieter to actively manage their weight in the
future.
The difficulty of
the Starvation Diet also means that those who actually manage to
get through it will have developed a level of food discipline that
very few will be able to compare too. You will be able to very
easily turn down certain types of food that are less healthy and
focus on those that are healthier with this new found discipline.
The benefit doesn’t only stop at how you manage your food but it
can also progress to other parts of your life where discipline is
necessary such as your job or even your family
management.
Last but not
least, those there are people that say that this diet falls
squarely into the whole of “if it doesn’t kill you, it’ll make you
stronger”. The toughness of this diet together with the knowledge
that you will acquire about your body and how it works will mean
that you will generally become a much tougher person too. You will
be able to control your hunger and also control your metabolism
which is a very useful skill to have and know about.
Conclusion
Overall our view is that this diet will probably cause more
problems than it solves. We recognize that the diet is very
efficient in helping the dieter lose weight however we believe that
the drastic weight loss normal to the Starvation Diet is a bit of
an over-kill for what you want. There are many other diets out
there that are slower but also much safer in the long run. We
recommend that only the real experts that should consider the
Starvation Diet, those of us who aren’t particularly familiar with
our bodies and body processes should consider different
diets.
