Experts have also
indicated that due to the difficulty and the stress that the
Starvation Diet requires, there is a very high chance that people
will simply not be able to complete the diet successfully. This is
bad firstly because their weight loss goals are not achieved but
also because it wounds their pride and can very well cause them to
lose interest in other more effective slimming diets.
In addition to
the high drop off rate there is also a higher than average
incidence of people gaining all the weight that they have lost. The
experts have concluded that this is again most probably because of
the difficulty of the diet and how some of the dieters have chosen
to reward themselves for achieving their feat. Unfortunately they
revert back to rewarding themselves with food which will eventually
start the downward cycle once again and make them overweight once
more.
There are also
very real health problems and concerns that experts have recognized
with the severe calorie restriction. Firstly, the lack of
nutrition, vitamins and minerals may actually lead to malnutrition.
This is especially true in the Dieting Phase where calories are
severely restricted. Dieters will also face the potential onset of
gastric problems as the food intake is reduced.
Why the
Starvation Diet is Recommended The very first reason that
the Starvation Diet can be recommended is because of the results.
There simply isn’t another diet out there that can make a person
lose weight as fast. For those that have the determination to go
through the diet and have a need to lose weight rapidly for
whatever reason the Starvation Diet is the way to go unless you are
suffering from a medical condition, then you will need to consult a
medical doctor before proceeding.
Some experts will
point to the additional cleansing affect of the Starvation Diet as
an additional bonus that other types of diets do not bring to the
table. The cleansing affect happens when the diet forces your body
to burn fat very quickly. Toxins have a bad habit of being stored
in the fat and as such when you diet and drink a lot of water, the
toxins will be flushed off by the kidneys in the form of urine. It
is quite normal for your urine to be unusually yellow even if you
haven’t ate or done anything to cause this. It is simply toxins
being washed away by your body.
