In addition to
the problem of hunger you will also be feeling the physiological
and psychological effects. Physiologically speaking you will look
weaker and feel weaker. It is quite normal for you to have a pale
face and have dark shadows under your eyes as your body is spending
a lot more energy converting your fat and muscle into energy for
your body’s own vital processes. You will have very little energy
to do much else than you regular job and come home to sleep. In
this phase it is quite normal that most slimming dieters will stay
away from exercise as it will make them even weaker. During the
on-stage, it is normal to wake up feeling tired as your body will
need to work over the night to convert your fat and muscles into
useful energy.
Most of the time
the shock of reduced calories also means that your body’s natural
defenses against viruses and bacteria is slightly compromised. You
have to be careful where you go and avoid places where a lot of
people are for fear of catching something. Muscle aches and joint
aches are also common as your body’s muscle and joint supports
atrophy away in order to supply an energy source for your vital
organs and survival.
As your dieting
continues you will first be accustomed to the hunger pangs and soon
you will be able to control them very easily. One of the hardest
things to control is how a severely restricted calorie diet will
affect you psychologically. The first and most obvious affect that
the dieter will feel is tiredness. It will become hard for you to
concentrate on things and will also make you reflexes suffer
considerably. You will be slower in reaction than normal and also
be a bit dull. You will also suffer from irritability and also
apathy. Some dieters have even indicated that they have experienced
bouts of neutotic behavior such as depression or hysteria. The
affects of the severe calorie restriction will each person
differently. It just pays to know that you aren’t going mad and
everything that you are feeling is simply a by-product of your
diet.
It is beneficial
to know that this phase of the diet is the hardest and many people
fail at this stage because of the sheer strength and will power
that is needed to actively starve yourself when you know very well
that there is food almost anywhere you look. Remember that you have
a set weight loss goal and you should not pass your weight loss
limit on this phase. This phase allows for very fast weight loss
and should only be continued to the point where you are happy with
your results. Constant use of this phase is dangerous and can cause
severe mal-nutrition which is life threatening.
Cool-Down
Phase
This is the last phase of the Starvation Diet. In this phase the
dieter should already be happy with their results and is ready to
close the chapter on this dieting and continue the rest of their
lives. This phase exists because the majority of people who have
been subjected to the Starvation Diet end up overeating when the go
off the diet and start to put the pounds back on. An important part
of the whole Starvation Diet is the cool down process after you
